A wedding with a bunch of first… for me!
What a day I had
It all started with a message from my wife friend and former work college, Faye. She was getting married to her girlfriend, Lisa. I was honoured to be asked to capture their big day and of course, I agreed.
After a short while, I got to meet them both in person to discuss the big day and what kind of images they were wanting.
Turns out the wedding venue was the Mill House in County Durham. Well technically, in the teepee at the Mill House, which made for a wonderful venue. Lovely warm light and a cosy
The venue was picked as they allowed dogs to be at the service. So not only was this my first same-sex marriage, but it’s the first wedding with dogs at the service and party. The dogs behaved so well. Not a bit of bother from any of them.
Faye and Lisa just wanted a few posed, formal photos and the rest as more of a document of the day. Capturing the mood of the day and getting real smiles and emotions of the day.
Faye and Lisa looked amazing, both in a beautiful white dress. The officiator had gone with a bold look. A bright pink suit! Good job he was a friend of them both and the funny side was taken.
As you can see in the above photo, Faye and Lisa are deeply in love. This image was not posed and is a capture of a real, fleeting moment.
They also like a selfie!
The day was fantastic, the couple so happy and the venue amazing. A great day was had by all and I wish Lisa and Faye all the best for the future.
